We need to make the whole county aware of this, because this historic site belongs to them too

The 350 acres + that was just bought isn't historic in itself

All of Castalian Springs is historic. Anyone who has lived here knows that.

You have to be kidding... the 350 acres is right in the center of this very historic area.. You must not live here or maybe history , and preserving it for the future just isn't important to YOU!

We live in Castalian Springs and there are Native American and Civil War artifacts on too many parcels to count. It IS historic, definitely. There is no worse place for this to happen.

The 2035 Master Plan for Sumner County will be reviewed on July 27th and in that it states: one of the strategies is to develop a historic zoning commission for Castalian Springs and Bledsoe's Lick. In addition, Sumner County residents gave input into this master plan last year and Rural Preservation and protection of natural resources, character and sense of place is engendered by these resources. Damaging them negatively impact the level of our economy, sense of community, public health, environment, and quality of life. How can the zoning board, commissioners, etc. allow a quarry to be approved in the middle of a historic area given the 2035 master plan and priorities of the residents in the area for preservation of our natural resources?

With a master plan which promotes preservation of our community natural resources, historical sites and area which impacts our sense of community, public health, environment and way of life... how can this move forward? If we all provided input into our priorities for our communities for the master plan voice your concerns that our leaders keep to the vision for 2035and follow the plan and desires of the residents.

What a great presentation by the attorneys and experts tonight.... Very interesting and informative and unbelievable that there was no discussion from the Zoning Board of Appeals. We crushed the quarry for this step. What is the next step and will Hoover take the next step?
